Carnival Network South East 24th April - Sunny!

What people think Carnival Access is all about

a photo of drawn squares with people's ideas of accessible carnival.

The morning started with hot chocolate and sitting with my interpreters and planned what we're going to say at the carnival meeting

We went in the carnival meeting hall and meet a samba band called Unified Rhytm some have with learning disabilities from the south east areas so as I'm a drummer well i've join in & take part for e.g in our making carnival accessible talk

the're lots of people come to find out new ideas how to make carnival better in their groups etc and the're some people from the arts council south east, london 2012 olympics(south east)

We start off saying our names and what we do in a short story about blue touch paper - telling them "why we need to make carnival accessible?" then they listerned to us, after we gave them an exersize with pens and paper, giving us what they think of the barriers getting in the way of making carnival accessible.

few mins later they turned over the paper show us in drawing the good way of making carnival accessible in their drawings, then we told them about our workshop "I'll show you" to get more ideas to make carnivals even more accessible to many disabled people

we share and listern to other groups on what their doing in carnivals this year & how we can take part, and had lunch I feel it was a very good talk and other groups in the carnival conference really listern sharing our ideas in making carnivals accessible.
